Ester is a 15 metre fin keel racing yacht from the very beginning of the 20th century. In the late 1930s, she disappeared and was lost. In 2016 she was rediscovered 164 feet below the surface of the sea in the north of Sweden.
With the support of her owners, Bo Eriksson and Per Hellgren have begun a project that will see the rebirth of a very unusual yacht. The team expect to be preparing for sea trials in late 2018 and hope to see Ester’s official relaunch in Monaco in 2019.
Since November 2017, Meb, Johannes and Bo have made some real progress in finishing the exterior of the hull, the interior bracing members, fitting an adjustable mast step and a few more coats of Woodskin, supplied by Tinter.
